PROJECT: Project entitled „Innovative technology for the production of adjustable door frames, characterised by high automation and increased process and quality control”

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Intelligent Development Operational Programme 2014-2020, Sub-measure 1.1.1 Industrial research and development work carried out by enterprises.

The objective of the Project implemented by Classen-Pol is to develop a process innovation in the form of a significantly improved, highly automated process for the production of adjustable door frames, enabling a significant increase in the scale of process control and improved quality control of final products. The development of the innovation in this area will also allow for the production of adjustable door frames characterised by increased moisture resistance properties, thanks to the introduction of hot-stamping technology as part of the innovation.

The implementation of the project will make it possible to solve the technical and technological limitations occurring in the hitherto used process of adjustable door frame production, resulting from inefficient performance of activities requiring speed and precision by employees, use of selective and inaccurate methods of organoleptic production and quality control, low level of monitoring of the production process, resulting in the lack of possibility to collect complete data about it, making it impossible to examine the limits of production efficiency increase and making management decisions.

Thanks to the development and implementation of a number of innovative technical and technological solutions to the production process of adjustable door frames, a process innovation with new features will be obtained, i.e.:

1. Increased automation of the adjustable door frame manufacturing process
2. Significantly improved control of the flow of materials, semi-finished and finished products in the adjustable door frames production process
3. Ensuring continuous quality control of semi-finished and finished products in the production process
4. Gaining the possibility to offer adjustable door frames with increased moisture resistance.

In addition, the developed result will meet the needs defined by the target recipients, i.e. DIY shops and specialist shops, which expect increasing volumes of high-quality products, while at the same time being able to ensure short order delivery times and offer product servicing.

The implementation of the Project’s results will be carried out by introducing the R&D results into the company’s own business activity and commencing the use of the pilot line, allowing the sale of high-quality door frames with additional new functionality of increased moisture resistance properties.
